Bavarians will retain supremacy in sporting SUV BMW X6 earned facelift and will be presented in world premiere at Geneva Motor Show 2012.
The BMW X6 launched in 2008 as a less practical version of BMW X5, but with a sporty and why not extravagant. Obviously, quickly became the car of the moment, and now, after four years and more than 150,000 copies sold worldwide, it’s time for a facelift.
A facelift quite discreet, because X6 seems hardly needs major changes. The most visible feature of this facelift is found in the front, which can be replaced xenon headlights, optionally with some adaptive LED that looks high-tech. Flags are also LED and the top is now a “lid” with a strong aesthetic effect.
Front spoiler is almost unchanged, only holes with the right side to some ornaments that clearly differentiates facelift of the previous version, especially as fog lights were moved out. Otherwise, the lights remain the same shape, but are also equipped with LEDs and give discharges to form a circular trapeze. It also noted the adoption of mooring interesting roof bars.
Inside, the BMW X6 facelift just about new combinations of colors, inserts and leather upholstery to enhance the impression of sportiness, while luxury remains ubiquitous. Obviously, the facelift brings with it a new color palette for the body, and wheels with new design, up to 19 inches.
From a technical standpoint, the basic versions are petrol X6 xDrive35i (3.0 liter turbocharged six-cylinder that develops 300 hp) and X6 xDrive50i (4.4 liter turbo V8 and 400 hp), both benefiting automatic gearbox with eight steps. The M Performance Package option, the two versions can be upgraded to 15 hp and 40 hp, but the package also includes 20-inch wheels, suspension specific settings, and various exterior and interior accessories.
The top left BMW X6 M, with a 555 horsepower V8 and a 6-speed automatic gearbox M-Sport. In the diesel, we get two versions: X6 xDrive30d X6 xDrive40d to 245 hp and 306 hp, both benefiting from a common-rail diesel 3.0-liter.
