The new A6 Allroad and the first A8 hybrid

In Munchen appeared first tests with the new A6 Allroad and the first hybrid luxury sedan ever built by Audi – A8 Hybrid. Read the first impressions after testing.

One year since Audi launched the new generation of the A6, now the German manufacturer complete the range with Allroad quattro version, actually a A6 wagon with four-wheel drive and raised ground clearance to protect body side panels.

Moreover, the new Allroad comes available with the new 3.0 liter diesel BiTDI bi-turbo 313 hp which already makes it not only an alternative to an SUV, but a sporty SUV thanks to 650 Nm torque.
Unlike the previous generation, A6 Allroad doesn’t look as a break that wants to be a SUV, but shows, as other models in the Audi range, very sexy and sporty from LED lights on the trunk line.

Once you sit at the wheel, you feel that you are in an Audi. Quality of materials is above average, as we all have expected. All four passengers have sufficient space, whether talking about a short trip or an extended holiday. I appreciated the luggage compartment and powered tailgate which automatically drew the curtains on opening. I appreciated the MMI system that you could connect at via Bluetooth to a mobile phone within seconds or you could connect a cable to access the iPhone music collection.

But what really matters to the new Allroad is under the hood. VW needed a 3.0 liter diesel engine over 300 hp in the portfolio, for Audi to compete on an equal footing with BMW.
And it succeeded. The engine is absolutely brilliant. The machine is now able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds, Autobahn running smoothly with 250 km/h and carry four passengers at the opera and at a hunting party or a road.

The engine is flexible, rise fast in shifts and most importantly, consume less. How little? Whatever the conditions, the trip computer showed no more than 10 litres/100km fuel consumption, whether talking about running over 200 km/h on German motorways or approach any more sporty driving style on the coil.

Official – Audi A8 hybrid

The first hybrid luxury-class Audi was released to the public in Frankfurt 2011 but the trading will begin only in 2012.

Production of hybrid A8 will start in 2012 when under the hood of A8 sedan will be mounted a 2.0 TFSI petrol engine which will be added to an electric motor. Two-liter petrol engine produces 211 hp and maximum torque of 350 Nm and disc-shaped electric motor 54 hp and 210 Nm. Combined, the two units will produce 245 hp and 480 Nm that is close to the three-liter diesel engine company.

Announced average consumption is 6.4 liters petrol per 100 kilometers traveled. A8 hybrid can run up to 100 km/h only in electric mode. If you run at a constant speed of 60 km/h, A8-electric will run for about three kilometers. Audi A8 Hybrid accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 235 km/h. CO2 emissions are officially announced as 148 grams per kilometer.

Only small details betray the exterior of the hybrid propulsion flagship of Audi’s cross. Wheels in standard size of 18 inch and optional 19 inch and have a special design and remind us of turbine blades. The new Audi A3 generation is its world premiere at Geneva Motor Show 2012, showing an evolution from the previous minimum A3 in the appearance, but hides inside major developments and technical section.

The fourth generation Audi A3 is a very discrete evolution from the previous generation, continuing a style considered successful, but with the adaptation of the new Audi brand image. The headlights are narrow, with a form already known from the Audi A1 and have LED fitting large hexagonal grid, while the horizontal taillights reminiscent of the Audi A6.

The general appearance inspires robustness, as the previous generation, but the designers also offers a way and you can customize with S-Line package, which requires more aggressive spoiler, but without distorting the line of the machine simple and familiar. Audi A4 2.0 TDI S-line details

Created to fight against the BMW 3 Series, Audi has thrown into the middle class scene the new A4 sedan, now more refined and better equipped than ever.

A4 is Audi’s most successful model. It is the eighth generation, and in 39 years of career has been sold over ten million units. Last year, taking advantage of growing old 3 Series, Audi A4 was the top selling premium model in its class and most successful premium model in the world. But Audi’s Bavarian calculate their steps carefully and in the new 3 Series, the new A4, as stylistically refined interior and economic engines that never appeared on the market.

In addition to new paint colors for the body, the A4 received a new front and rear. The headlights now show so well with their band of LEDs “in waves” of this generation that the original headlights look like they were launched 10 years ago. Driving position is still sporty but S-line seats still seems too hard and uncomfortable. In conclusion, the new A4 is a very successful car, so the new interior and exterior are improved offering a more modern and futuristic design.
