Against a ML series, the new ML 63 AMG has a more aggressive spoiler, which gives the curves in favor of sharp edges. However, the ML 63 AMG’s spoiler is quite close in appearance to that of the optional AMG package on any ML, the main differences consisting in placing different type LED position lights, in the presence of an additional splitter and highlighting the three large slots of ventilation.
Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG is also notable with Xenon headlights slightly modified as appearance, by 20-inch wheels with a special design (optional wheels are available 21-inch) or two pairs of rectangular discharge, with a small speaker in the rear spoiler.
Otherwise, Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG counts, as I said, on the elegance and sobriety, detaching from the image of “bad boy” of the rival BMW X5M. Even the interior is designed in a more luxurious, sporty character is highlighted shaped seats or aluminum inserts.
On the technical level, the new Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG marks an evolution from the previous model. V8 twin-turbo engine, 5.5-liter, is stronger by 15 hp and 60 Nm than the other 6.3-liter engine, displaying 518 hp and 700 Nm. The performance announced: 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h.
But engineers offers an AMG Performance Package, which includes increasing the maximum power to 550 hp and maximum torque of 760 Nm, which means improving start from 0 to 100 km/h with 0.1 seconds (4.6 seconds), and maximum speed reaches at 280 km/h. AMG Performance Package also means carbon fiber engine cover, painted red brake caliper or wheel with perforated leather special clothing.
The standard automatic gearbox is available with 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS, three programs running and rev-matching function for relegation. In mode C (Controlled Efficiency), the engine benefits from stop-start function, while the box changes at low revs, for as low fuel consumption – average amounts to 14.7 liters/100 km, with 33 % better than the preceding ML 63 AMG.
